The quality is determined by two factors, resolution and
video bitrate. In the default profiles, we used the highest
value for the two factors, so the output quality is quite
perfect when playing on iPad. We've tested the profile with
320*240 (368*208) under Video Bitrate 2500, the output video is
also quite clear when playing on iPad.
Resolution-----our program will auto-keep original aspect ratio of a DVD. If the original DVD is a
full-screen movie, it will use 640*480 to rip while 640*360
for wide-screen movie. If you need to re-set the resolution, you should
set the right aspect ratio. Or the output video will be distorted.
That's to say, if the original DVD is 4:3, you should input a 4:3 value
like 320*240 in the full screen box.
Video Bitrate/ Audio Bitrate-----They are key factors
to affect the quality of ripped file. Usually the higher the
value, the better the quality. But in MPEG-4 codec
specification, the highest value of Video Bitrate is 2500
while Audio Bitrate is 256. And in H.264 codec
specification, the highest value of Video Bitrate is 1500. So don't set a value over this
restriction, for it's no sense for improving quality.
Video Codec-----We support both MPEG-4 video codec and H.264 codec. The former will save much time
and quality is perfect. Usually this codec is appropriate. If you care much about the quality and don't care of
the time and file size, you may choose H.264 codec.
